After a masterful and groundbreaking episode on PS4 in 2018, Kratos and Atreus are back on PS5 (and PS4) with the highly anticipated God of War Ragnarök.
From the very start of the game, the tone is set and the title demonstrates all its qualities. First and foremost, its accessibility is rarely seen. Every player, regardless of their skill level, will find something to enjoy. the settings that suit him. This is still too rare not to be highlighted.
Once the game is set up, we find a weary Kratos accompanied by his now-adolescent son. Then comes a Dantean introduction that foreshadows... An adventure far from restful. The graphics The title's performance is at the expected level They are pleasing to the eye. They are beautiful and fluid.
But it is above all in the animation and the acting that God of War It's impressive. The scenes are superb, often surprising. The quick-time events enhance the immersion. Few games transport you so instantly into their world.
Furthermore, whether in the original version or the dubbed version, theThe voices are of undeniable quality.. As for the music, the compositions always sound right, adapting to the gameplay and enhancing the whole experience.
God of War Ragnarok Review: A Man's Story
On the story front, the duo must prepare for the arrival of Ragnarok. The father-son relationship is at the heart of the matter., with a much more seasoned Atreus, making decisions and not hesitating to stand up to his father. Kratos's unease and questioning about this evolution are delightful. It greatly humanizes the character and suits him quite well. The game of Santa Monica Studio It also regularly brings a smile to people's faces with dialogues that hit the mark.
All the main characters are present in this direct sequel to the 2018 release. But don't panic if you haven't played the first episode, a fairly short summary will allow you to get into the swing of things quite easily.
Regarding the playtime for the main adventure, expect around twenty hours of gameplay, to which you'll of course add all the side quests. an average total of 40 hours. A good lifespan, which is pleasing for such a game.
On the confrontation side, the unleashing of violence and rage brings a welcome feeling of power. The fights can be tactical. It's always a pleasure to unleash Kratos' full range of abilities to send enemies to their doom with style.
To that end, the RPG elements of the game add even more depth. Indeed, the choice of armor and other runestones also influences how you play.
The exploration phases They then play their roles in order to looter everything needed for the two heroes to evolve or to find new parts that will improve their skills.
God of War Ragnarok review: where the problem lies
All of this would be perfect if certain flaws weren't such glaring omissions. Starting with something that developers of any adventure game should no longer impose on players: the excessive indications or backseat in video game jargon.
As he so aptly puts it Choco in his test d‘'Horizon Forbidden West, to have a voice (two in this case!) constantly guiding us on the next steps, makes exploration and puzzle-solving unbearable. The slightest step in the wrong direction triggers a warning. In my opinion, this feature should only be an accessibility option.
Moreover, the management menu skills and other armor is not the most optimized. Everything is counterintuitive and spending time on it is not a pleasant experience.
But the biggest drawback, for me, is, the repetitiveness of the levels in their construction. A situation capable of completely taking me out of the game, as the crude mechanics stand out on screen.
If I pass all the painted signs that mark your path like a GPS, the act of finding the same game patterns that in the previous installment gives me the impression of tasting an excellent dish again, minus the surprise. The little change in the title It leaves me feeling doubtful with a slight taste of bitterness.
Finally, the camera during combat phases is good often with strawberries when the number of enemies on screen increases, consequently hindering the readability of the ongoing actions.
God Of War Ragnarok review: conclusion
Don't misunderstand, God of War Ragnarok is an excellent title in many ways, and I have no intention of suing him. I just find it unfortunate. lack of risk-taking For a formula that repeats itself. Apart from that, the adventure is worthy of the angry hero and is a great pleasure to experience.
This sequel is therefore well-calibrated, true to its principles, but without surprises in its gameplay and structure.
Does that make it a less good game? If you're not as sensitive as I am to the mechanics of a game, you can add one or two more points to the score without any problem.
Have a good odyssey!

Meets my expectations
Great summary, I'm having a blast with this game and the advice
Much good play. Must have. Le doy 4/5 estrellas porque la dificultad está bastante rota, del rollo uncharted 1 y 3. En Normal me costó bastante al final y no acabas de sentir que te chetas por completo después de mejorarlo todo al máximo. I also recommend playing easily.
Después de jugar al God of War de Ps4 me entró la nostalgia y compré este.Tan bueno como lo recordaba: acción, frenesí y lecciones de cultura griega. ¡Todo in one!The unique thing is that you can use the same language as the motor in this remaster
Con esta tercera parte, finalizan las aventuras de Kratos en el mundo de la mitología griega para luego adentrarse en la nórdica, donde actualmente lo disfrutamos en esos dos juegos disponibles para PS4. This is a remaster that appeared on the PS3 and is still tengo. El juego es prácticamente el mismo, aunque yo diría que se carga más rápido en la PS4 que en la 3. Se tarda unas 12 horas (o menos, según lo hábil que seas) en completarlo y es divertido. So much of the graphic level as the full sound. In short, a game that cannot be lost in any collection.
Well, I waited until I'd finished the game to write this review and give my opinion. I'm usually more into Nintendo games (especially Zelda and Pokémon), and I've only had a PS4 Pro since early April. When I pre-ordered the game, some friends told me it wasn't my kind of game and that I wouldn't like it (mind you, these are the same people who recommended the Royal Edition of FFXV, where the only royal thing I do is get royally bored, but there will be a review of that one if I ever manage to get around to playing and finishing it...). It's true that I'm one of those people who don't judge a game by its graphics, and I'm not a die-hard fan of combat. But my first reaction was to think, "Wow, it's really well done!" (Maybe because I have a PS4 Pro, or maybe simply because compared to my Switch, it's night and day...). I wasn't expecting so much exploration, puzzles, and mini-quests, given what I'd heard about the series, and naturally, I loved it considering my background. The only downside is Atreus; you often want to smack him, he's so annoying. On the other hand, I love the little scenes where they tell each other stories on the boat. All this makes me really want to try the previous installments. Edit: Once you've finished your adventure, I encourage you to try God of War mode, which will significantly increase the challenge! If you found this review helpful, please click "yes" below. And why not check out my other reviews? If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them.
Hey, I received it 3 days before the official release date. So, I'm sharing my thoughts since I'm the first one to get it, but I haven't finished the game yet because it's so beautiful. My instructions: wait for the release date, sir! Okay! I'm surprised by so many high-quality features, even though it came with version 1.10 right from the start. The combat techniques, graphics, gameplay, and playability are truly enjoyable... even though I'm playing in 1080p performance mode on a Pro PC with a 4K TV. I don't know if it's 60 fps, but it's even more detailed than the 4K resolution mode, in my opinion. Yes, it's definitely a constant 60fps that I recommend. A huge hit that will leave a lasting mark on lagging studios... Going from Far Cry 5 to this magnificent God of War, which will win hundreds, even thousands of awards... A mix between Horizon Zero Dawn, The Last of Us, but mainly Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice (only on the PSN store and for a bargain considering the game's quality, especially the incredible sound and visuals, far superior to God of War, which is saying something). It's absolutely stunning, so polished and precise. Without hesitation, I'd give it 19.99/20 because 20 (perfection) doesn't exist, even for a Sony game. Advice: Go for it like you did for Fortnite: Battle Royale, Far Cry 5, Detroit: Become Human, Red Dead Redemption 2, Death Stranding, Daysgone, Spider-Man, The Crew 2, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, The Last of Us Part II, and many more. With God of War, you'll see some of the power that the PS4 Pro can deliver, and of course, the standard version too. 😉 Sorry to PC/Xbox One gamers, 4/5 of the exclusives are only on PlayStation! Thanks if you read everything. You guys are awesome. Happy gaming to all you gamers! 🎮 PS: 2018 was a huge year for the video game world, these are all potential future hits! Sorry about the photo quality, but I was too excited to be the first to leave this comment, which I just edited a bit since this is the last one. I love you all. 🤗
In this Santa Monica game, a direct sequel to God of War 3, we continue Kratos' story. Set in the chilling and oppressive atmosphere of Norse mythology, we find Kratos having seemingly rebuilt his family. After the death of his wife, Kratos embarks on the quest she left him: to cut down the trees she had marked in the forest for her funeral pyre and then scatter her ashes atop the highest mountain in the Nine Realms. It is on this journey that we find Kratos accompanied by his son Atreus, ready for hours of brutality. Kratos is older but just as strong; he's even visibly more muscular. The game is filmed in a single continuous shot, a first in video game history, and the result is nothing short of impressive. The landscapes are magnificent, and the atmosphere is captivating. The combat scenes are simply exceptional! With its striking dynamism and brutality, as only Kratos can deliver, Atreus, who accompanies us throughout the game, isn't a burden. We can order him to fire arrows, making him useful in combat. The game offers several difficulty levels, the highest of which is truly challenging—a perfect mode for those seeking a real test. The game aims to be compelling, with magnificent graphics, successful designs, and breathtaking gameplay. However, there are some flaws, such as the repetitive end-of-combat combos (there's only one way to kill each enemy), and the camera, which can be distracting when locking onto enemies. Aside from these criticisms, I have nothing to complain about. As for the game's length, it can reach up to 50 hours! For a God of War game, that's really good. After finishing the story, you can explore the kingdoms as you please, and you'll have two new areas to discover. These areas will allow you to find the equipment you need to defeat the nine Valkyries, who are truly formidable opponents. They'll force you to restart battles more than once, and you'll undoubtedly want to smash your controller in half. As you can see, this game is a must-have for the PS4, and you'll spend hours discovering a story as magnificent as the landscapes, engaging characters, and of course, challenging and impressive sequences. If you haven't bought it yet, go for it!
The multimedia product could not be loaded. Having missed out on the PS4 generation, I'm discovering God of War on PS5 thanks to backward compatibility and a next-gen update released on February 2, 2021. This game is simply a masterpiece. I haven't completely finished it yet, but I can already say that I love it. The intensity of the combat, the mythological atmosphere, and the Kratos/Atreus relationship are simply brilliant. Let me explain why: Story: In God of War, you play as Kratos, the iconic hero of the saga. This character, known as the God of War, is consumed by vengeance. After numerous outbursts of violence and reckless battles, he is no longer welcome on the lands of Olympus, lands he ravaged with the help of the Titans in his war against Zeus! Following his departure from Olympus, Kratos exiles himself to the North to live a more peaceful life and raise his son. He wishes to instill in him the values he deems necessary for his survival in a decadent world. But Kratos's scandalous and raging past catches up with him. The game: God of War is a third-person action-adventure game (camera behind the character) in the action/adventure/beat 'em up genre. The main character, Kratos, has a range of attacks and weapons allowing him to fight numerous enemies throughout his journey. In this new God of War adventure, the developers introduce RPG elements and weapon crafting and upgrades. Presentation: How beautiful! The game was already one of the most beautiful in its time on PlayStation 4. Having missed its initial release in 2018, I'm now discovering it on PS5 thanks to backward compatibility and a technical update (released on February 2nd, 2021 by Sony) that allows for 4K at 60fps. The environments are magnificent and detailed. The forests, lakes, and snow-capped mountains are enhanced by this next-gen update. Playtime: I started my adventure just a few days ago and have only been able to play for a few hours. However, various reviews by the specialized press mention approximately 25 hours of gameplay, and close to 40 hours when completing side quests. Who is it for? For adults only; the game is rated PEGI 18 (not suitable for those under 18). Violence and a thirst for revenge are at the heart of God of War's story. Conclusion: So why buy God of War? + Stunning graphics enhanced on PS5 thanks to the patch released on February 2, 2021. + A charismatic hero immersed in Norse mythology. + A beautiful father-son relationship. + Absolutely insane action sequences. + A highly immersive mythological atmosphere. + A mind-blowing story and ending promising an equally epic sequel (a sequel has already been announced for PS5). However, be warned: - Not suitable for young audiences (age rating: PEGI 18). - It can be a little confusing with all the weapons and combat techniques. God of War was the AAA (blockbuster) game of 2019 and won Game of the Year (GOTY) multiple times. I loved immersing myself in this mythological universe and traveling the world with Kratos and Atreus; the atmosphere is amazing and the battles are epic. If you haven't yet had the chance to play this game, I highly recommend you embark on this adventure.
This is the base game, no issues. I ordered here for fast delivery.
