We already know the Nintendo Switch, but the OLED model is truly top-notch. The same dimensions but a larger screen area, better contrast (thanks to OLED technology), resulting in more vibrant colors. The screen is much clearer because the brightness is improved. If, like me, you wanted a Switch, go for the OLED version without hesitation. However, if you already own the standard model, I don't think it's really worth it.

I'd been wanting to get this console for a while, and I finally have it! It's very different from the competition, allowing you to play on your TV as well as in handheld mode. I mostly play in home console mode, but it's very convenient for playing on the go. The console itself looks like a tablet, with a touchscreen on the front, two volume buttons, and a power button. I find the screen quite large, and its resolution is sufficient to avoid seeing the pixels. It has a kickstand, which allows you to prop it up while holding a controller. However, you can't really use the touchscreen with the kickstand on, as the console tends to tip over. I find it a shame that you can't charge it while playing with a controller; the charging port is located underneath the console, so you can't plug it in and set it down. It comes with two Joy-Cons, Nintendo's new controllers that plug and unplug from the console, somewhat reminiscent of miniature Wiimotes with their wrist straps and motion controls. This gives you two controllers for the price of one, allowing two players to play Mario Kart 8 or Super Smash Bros. The two Joy-Cons can be used like a classic controller with the included comfort grip. They recharge by connecting to the Switch, but still boast excellent battery life. Unless you forget to plug them in for a week of gaming, I don't see how you could run out of power. Unfortunately, they are prone to "Joy-Con drift," which causes the player to move forward without touching the controller, for example. There are two solutions: either send the controllers back to Nintendo for a free replacement, or replace the joysticks yourself. I haven't experienced this yet, and I hope I won't. The dock allows you to connect the console to the television, offering an HDMI port, a charging port, and a USB port behind a cover. This last USB port allows you to connect an Ethernet adapter. On the outside of the dock, there are two USB-A ports for charging a controller or using them wired. The system is quite simple to use; games are displayed in the order they were last played. You can choose between a gray and a white theme. The console itself offers 32GB of storage for save data as well as downloaded game data. This memory is expandable via a microSD card slot located under the console's kickstand. It's worth noting that some cartridge games require downloading data to be played, such as Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, which needs 8GB. As for games, you'll find all the Nintendo classics, like Mario Kart, Zelda, Mario Bros., Mario 3D… But the large number of Wii U ports gives the impression that the Switch is just an enhanced Wii U without any real new titles. You'll also find ports of "big" games, like The Witcher 3, Wolfenstein (which I mentioned earlier), Dark Souls… It's great to be able to play these games in handheld mode, but the graphics quality isn't always up to par, with blurry characters and environments and little texture. However, the Switch remains the only way to play recent Nintendo games, which is its strength. We bought this as a Christmas present for our 10-year-old daughter. The whole family loves this console. The great thing is being able to create multiple user accounts, so every game is saved. The eShop lets you download games that remain linked to the console according to the user account that purchases them, and you can download them as many times as you like.
