Pathetic = 64 GB download REQUIRED for the EU version, including for offline single-player mode, contrary to what another review claims, which is completely false. The disc acts as a key; there's nothing more to it. And it's totally ridiculous. Game returned and bought the US version. -> If you're a collector and like to OWN a game (i.e., use it without internet access even in 10 years), buy the US version on amazon.com, which contains the COMPLETE game on the disc.

A technical success. The game is quite beautiful and fluid; the only downside is that the original game is rather old, and it shows. I really enjoyed the series (up to God of War 3) on the Xbox 360 back in the day, and it's clear that this installment hasn't aged well in this form. It's a technical remake of the game, but not of the mechanics and level design (it's not a Resident Evil 2-style remake, but more like The Last of Us Part I on PS5, but better considering the time difference between the first God of War and the remake). As for the download, I can confirm that the single-player campaign is on the disc, and you'll need to download the multiplayer content. I haven't had the chance to test if it's possible to play the campaign in split-screen for local co-op; perhaps another comment will eventually inform us, but the game is definitely playable solo without needing the internet (and that's certain because my PS5 isn't connected to the internet, so...). In short, it's a very enjoyable game, but its core is showing its age. It remains to be seen whether the following episodes (2-3 and why not "Judgement") will receive the same treatment and a physical PS5 release, at least like the single-player campaign, even if we'd prefer to have everything on the disc (especially when you're Microsoft and one of the top 3 richest companies in the world, so a second Blu-ray isn't the end of the world).
