Next Level Racing has just announced the release of a new cockpit: the GTLite Pro. This model, which competes with the PlaySeat Challenge, joins the brand's family of foldable cockpits, alongside the GTLite and F-GTLite. Let's take a closer look at this announcement while we await the full review.
A foldable GT model
While the names at Next Level Racing all sound similar, they have the advantage of clearly defining the main characteristics of the cockpit they belong to. Here we have a GT model (and not an FGT), which means it simply offers a seating position typical of Gran Turismo cars.No F1 position on the program then. The "Pro" designation finally indicates that this chassis is positioned above the current GTLite.
Since it's a GT Lite model, we can guess (and this is confirmed) that the cockpit is foldable. Based on steel tubing, the GT Lite Pro features two ball joints for seat positioning. This allows it to fold down to a thickness of approximately 20 centimeters. It is also possible to fold it with the steering wheel and pedals installed., However, the result is more difficult to store in a closet. The concept still allows for the use of a full cockpit in locations where it cannot remain permanently deployed.
A complete DD compatible model?
The GTLite Pro also features a gear shifter mount. It is compatible with most models on the market, including those from brands such as Moza, Fanatec, Thrustmaster, and Logitech. The width of this mount has been increased to allow for the simultaneous use of a gear shifter and handbrake.
Among the additional improvements, this Pro model offers two straps to simultaneously stiffen the pedal assembly and the base of the steering wheel. Similarly, the manufacturer announces that it has revised the seat comfort with additional padding for better lumbar support.
