Description
The Thaumaturge is a story-rich isometric RPG with a unique approach to turn-based combat, character development features, and investigation mechanics. , confronting you with morally ambiguous choices – taking place in a world teeming with mysterious powers and strange ethereal beings called greetings .
The year is 1905. Warsaw lives under the yoke of Russian imperial tsarism. Its inhabitants form a diverse group of ancestries, viewpoints, and beliefs, with often conflicting interests: Russian soldiers, Jewish merchants, Polish townspeople, and so on. Despite the circumstances, the city is a vibrant metropolis, where one can attend a breathtaking party with high society and then be robbed in one of the dark alleys of the Praga district. A city full of great hopes and dreams on one hand, and dark desires on the other.
A thaumaturge carries both a gift and a burden. This parallel is true for Wiktor Szulski , The game's main protagonist is drawn back into the tumultuous streets of 20th-century Warsaw by family matters. The gift of thaumaturgy is deeply intertwined with his family heritage, passed down through his ancestors. This mystical legacy significantly shapes Wiktor's life path, which is tied to the pursuit of supernatural entities and their hosts. As only a thaumaturge can tame these ethereal entities—known to a select few as greeters – by using their mystical abilities to uncover the secrets hidden in the human soul and speak to the Darkness, no one understands like Wiktor how each person suffers from their own demons.
