Finally, it's here. The machine that's generated so much buzz has finally arrived. Received on November 7th, its launch day. It works really well, is very quiet, and plays both games and 2K and 4K Blu-rays very well with excellent quality. I just watched the movie DAMSEL on 2K Blu-ray, and it was a treat for both the picture and sound, apart from a couple of unexpected freezes on two or three occasions, but it recovered very quickly without me having to touch anything. As for games, I don't own many yet, but there's one I've seen: Horizon Forbidden West, and I can tell you it's a real treat; it's breathtakingly beautiful: the image sharpness, the texture of the skin, the beauty of the landscapes, the sound—it really has everything. I'm looking forward to seeing other games like Spider-Man 2 in a remastered version. For those who find the PS5 too noisy, you shouldn't place it directly on its side on a piece of furniture. If you do, you'll need to elevate it by putting feet underneath the console, because when loading a game, you'll hear the machine whirring if it's placed directly on a flat surface like a table or a shelf. Otherwise, the machine is really very quiet; you can't hear it unless you put your ear within 30cm of the console. And a very positive point is that it doesn't get very hot. We'll have to see how it performs over time.

PS5 Pro 🔥. Very good console, very powerful. Coming from a Slim, you can see a noticeable difference. With a suitable screen, I play on an LG OLED 55C5. However, for someone who doesn't have a 120Hz screen, and especially not a television, I don't recommend it. You'll find there's no difference at all. (You need to stop playing a console on a PC monitor and thinking it's normal.) It's a home console, not a PC.

It's true, it's very expensive compared to a PS5 Slim, but personally, this is my first PS5, so I might as well treat myself to go with my 4K 120Hz VRR TV. Do I see a difference compared to a Slim? No idea, I'd say it's probably minimal. Is the price difference debatable? Absolutely, but if you want to treat yourself, why not? Otherwise, the Slim will do the job just as well. What bothers me is how quiet it is, which is unusual for Sony, and that's a good thing.

Premium, but not essential. The multimedia product could not be loaded. The Premium console. I personally caved last month to get ahead of GTA VI and ensure the best experience. Goodbye to my good old "Day One" console after 5 years of faithful service. After more than a month of use, there's no striking visual leap, but the addition of "Pro" mode for games that have made the effort to offer it is extremely welcome. The most striking recent example is Ghost of Yotei, where you simply gain 60 fps in quality mode. Pure visual comfort for this type of very contemplative game. 2TB of storage, finally! This is the console's biggest strength. If, like me, you had already invested in an SSD for the standard console, they are compatible with the Pro. So now I have 3TB of storage to finish this generation, perfect. My biggest fear was overheating, and especially noise. This model is lighter (it's obvious when you pick it up) than the standard model, and I was worried it might be (I'm one of those traumatized by the PS4 era...). Regarding heat: No problem. Regarding noise: it seems a little less quiet than the standard one. But don't worry, it's nothing alarming; you have to put your ear right up to the console to notice it. During gameplay, it's imperceptible. We'll see how it holds up during the summer and periods of intense heat. The lack of a Blu-ray player and even the absence of a vertical stand are regrettable. For a €700 console, it's truly outrageous. It's not good value for money at all; it's important to think carefully before taking the plunge, especially if you already own a standard or slim model. We're now waiting for the big end-of-generation games for the next two to three years and to be blown away! It's a treat purchase, absolutely not essential if you already have a regular PS5 that will do the job well until the next generation. Too expensive for what it is, but it's still an excellent machine.

Excellent. Great, the packaging was as expected, although I would have liked more protection from Amazon. As for the rest, it's a standard PS5, no issues, its reputation speaks for itself. And I might as well have gone straight for the Pro rather than the standard one; the 2TB is fantastic, which is exactly what I needed in the end…

A significant power boost… that comes at a price. It's definitely not cheap, but compared to an equivalent PC, the PS5 Pro is well worth the investment. The performance is undeniable: sharper images, improved fluidity, more advanced ray tracing, and even some PSVR2 games benefit from this increased power. I understand that those who already own the standard PS5 might hesitate to upgrade, but the difference is truly noticeable. The only slight drawback: initially, it was a bit of a struggle to find the removable Blu-ray drive at a reasonable price…

A very good console, but a bit pricey. I bought the PS5 Pro when it was released. At first, there wasn't much difference compared to the PS5, but now with optimized games (like Assassin's Creed Shadows), you can really feel the difference in smoothness and quality. The 2TB of storage is a real plus. However, the price is a bit steep for a console. But if you're waiting for GTA 6, you'll be ready, especially with FSR 4 coming in 2026.
