For anyone who played the Game Boy classic, it's faithfully brought to the Switch complete with theme tunes and riffs that will bring back memories. Great game and really enjoying playing it once more on the Switch.

There was a lot of anticipation for a remake of this classic game. However, what a disappointment to realize that an intern could have done the job alone in a few months. It uses an unoptimized 3D engine, making the combat scenes incredibly boring. There's no option to disable animations. I won't even mention the art style, which I personally find awful. And worst of all, there's no online mode… Sure, there's multiplayer with your friends, which requires an active Nintendo subscription, but absolutely nothing to play with the rest of the world. What a shame! Nintendo made no effort whatsoever to squeeze every last penny out of everyone else.

I've been waiting for the series to return for 15 years (the last installment came out in 2008) and I'm not disappointed. There's admittedly little new content aside from the graphical update and a few gameplay tweaks, but since each campaign lasts at least fifteen hours (twenty if you're unfamiliar with the series or haven't played in a while), it more than makes up for it. In addition to the 30 to 40 hours for the two campaigns, expect dozens more hours with the HQ and VS modes. The online mode is a bit too simplistic, but since matches of this type of game generally last quite a while, we always prefer single-player or multiplayer on a single console. Contrary to the comment already posted, it is indeed possible to disable the animations (see photo), which everyone does after 2-3 missions, and the art style is sublime (this obviously depends on individual tastes). Without a doubt, this is the GOTY 2023! Go for it!
