A unique universe that manages to be compelling. A good game, but unfortunately not version 2 because it's for PS4 and not PS5. Consequently, there are still a few bugs, but they're fairly minor. I did encounter one, a bit more serious, which forced me to reload a save file. The atmosphere is enjoyable, even if somewhat depressing with its cyberpunk, transhumanist vibe and litter everywhere when you leave the cities. There are many vehicles to drive; the motorcycles are fantastic to ride, and the missions are varied and quite fun to complete. Multiple endings are possible depending on the choices you make. It's a good idea to create a manual save in case you want to play through them all.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A dense, immersive, and gorgeous game on PS5. I loved it! I bought the PS4 version but I'm playing it on PS5, and the experience is truly excellent. The world is incredibly immersive, the atmosphere of Night City is unique, and the story hooked me from beginning to end. The characters are well-developed, the side quests are just as worthwhile as the main quest, and the character progression is well-thought-out. On PS5, the game is smooth and beautiful, with far fewer bugs than at launch. If you have a PS5, go for it: it's an adventure you shouldn't miss. One of my recent favorites!

  3. Me

Don't listen to the hype and do a little more research ;). Okay, the PS4 fat is sluggish and sluggish, and crashes in most games, but this massively open world isn't so badly managed on the first-generation PS4 fat. Obviously, you'll have to install updates equivalent to the size of the uncompressed base game, otherwise the game will look awful. But once patched, the game will be quite pretty (even very pretty for some ;)), at least for a PS4 fat, and the bugs won't prevent you from playing. Be warned, you might be surprised; it feels more like a futuristic remaster of GTA V and Watch Dogs 2 than a cyberpunk universe. Until they find a solution, you'll experience game crashes (only) every 3-4 hours or so, and you'll hear the PS4 struggling and huffing and puffing… after that, the game is smoother than Watch Dogs Legion with very little slowdown. The sound is perfect. The story is truncated and summarized because of players who complained about the length of games like The Witcher or Assassin's Creed, leaving gaps and holes that prevent you from experiencing the emotion in certain moments that should be there. Initially, I would have given it 3 stars, but the patches kept coming, and after 80 hours of gameplay, it's more complete and complex than its short story suggests. It deserves a major expansion to flesh out this truly captivating universe and its story. And yes, the world is quite large, filled with streets and staircases, so it's not just empty straight lines. There are densely populated areas and others that are deserted (cars on the road or people... it's very consistent). The game's universe is quite coherent. After all, I play PS4 games on the original PS4 in 720p; this console is too technically limited to handle demanding games, and in 720p it's actually quite pretty (after patches) for 720p. If graphics are all that matter to you... invest in a €2000 PC and you can enjoy all the next-gen splendor of the game. But as the PR people said, the game actually performs remarkably well on older generation consoles. If you don't want any bugs, even if they aren't really bothersome or are so rare as to be negligible, if you don't want crashes every 3-4 hours on a PS4 that's struggling, but if the autosave feature will prevent you from losing anything annoying because it triggers every Key moment; in short, wait another month or two, but honestly, the game doesn't deserve this bashing, even if it's still imperfect. Those who bashd it at launch haven't played it, and honestly, the game is far from ugly, or they just want views or are sheep, as is often the case. Yes, the beginning is slow, but it deserves to be truly appreciated. Another piece of information: it's a mix between GTA VT and Watch Dogs 2, so yes, it's a GTA-like game, and the game is nicely basic on a PS4 fat without the next-gen effects, with a touch of futurism and science fiction. And my Madame Irma prediction: in 5 years, it will be as legendary as GTA V or The Witcher 3. There you have it, I've given you all the arguments that will be positive or negative for you; it's up to you to make your choice now, and I'm going back to it ;).

  4. Manu M.

Review after patch 1.22. This game is a complete disgrace. A 48GB patch that fixes bugs before you can even launch the game, and then, the disappointment! The game crashed three times during character creation. Three times! I had to restart and start all over again each time… I'm usually easy to please and never complain about games; I usually put up with minor bugs and am forgiving, but this game is completely unplayable. It's shameful to release a game like this just to squeeze money out of players at any cost. CD Projekt must have known about these bugs and knew the game was unplayable. It's a complete rip-off! I'm waiting a few days for the next patch, but I think it's going to be a return, something I never thought I'd do in my gaming life 😢 Edit of 06/21/2021: Day one, as I wrote at launch, the game crashed before I even finished configuring my character. I gave up, grumbling for months while waiting for patches or improvements, and now I've just spent a week on it with patch 1.22. I absolutely loved it. There are little bugs everywhere, corrupted missions that don't complete and force you to start a new save, sound glitches, disappearing textures, awful driving and even worse on a motorcycle, but honestly… it doesn't matter. The magic of Night City works. You feel both comfortable and uneasy there, it's indescribable. The city envelops you, it suffocates you, but it fascinates with its sheer complexity. The main plot and the subplots aren't always very coherent, but still, you become attached to all the characters who revolve around V. Almost all the stories work, kudos to the writers. One of the endings brought tears to my eyes and gave me serious chills… I hadn't experienced anything like that since the memory bank of Uncharted 4. I'll definitely replay it on PS5 when that version comes out, with male V of course. The French dubbing of female V is a complete disaster, oscillating between badly acted and overacted. I had to abandon 20 hours of gameplay to start over with male V because I couldn't stand that voice anymore, worthy of the worst actors on Plus Belle La Vie. Even the amateur actors from the local drama club are more convincing for the most part. The voice of female V trying to be tough is ridiculous and not at all believable. It's so sad to know that some people played the entire game with this low-quality voice acting that ruins everything. I'm a contemplative person by nature, whether it's video games or real life. I spent several hours scrutinizing every detail, and it's fair to say that the work done by CD Projekt is so colossal it's hard to fully appreciate. You only need to look at a simple bus shelter in the desert to be convinced. The design of the buildings, furniture, and objects is absolutely incredible; the sheer creativity on display is astounding. The clothing is the same. It's truly the work of a talented stylist. Even the car design department is impressive, with the beautiful vehicles available in a wide variety of styles depending on their intended use. Most players will rush through it, missing out on all this visual richness, which is a real shame. And the city's layout… These roads that intertwine, one on top of the other, these blocks of buildings that at first glance seem archaic but ultimately reveal themselves to be pure architectural genius. And I'm not even mentioning the numerous pedestrian paths and alleyways that crisscross it all. The city isn't vast in terms of surface area, but it's incredibly dense and vertical. It's a far cry from the blocks of buildings placed side by side in the magnificent GTA 5, if we were to compare two urban environments. After 100 hours of gameplay, I was still amazed by the complexity of this city. I even identified districts on three distinct levels. Let's be honest, the city designers are architectural geniuses. The sound design is also incredibly well done. I have a good audio setup, I felt the city, and I could have guessed which district I was in with my eyes closed. Whether it's the sounds close up or those further away that you can barely hear, it's amazing. It's a shame that so few players have a decent home theater system to fully appreciate it. I also loved the gunfights and stealth infiltrations. I played on easy mode so I wouldn't have to think too hard and could fully enjoy the game's world and story, but what a pleasure it was to mow down hordes of thugs with a shotgun in 5.1 surround sound and blow truckloads of them off with my gorilla arms. I can't wait until 2070 to get them done by a slur. Okay, I'll cut it short since few people will read this, but if by some incredible chance someone from CD Projekt happens to stumble across this, I want to say a huge THANK YOU for everything I've experienced this week. This game should have been released with patch 1.22, not before. It's sad for the whole team, the shitstorm it went through. I was the first to complain on day one; I even almost sent my copy back to Amazon. I don't regret at all having thought about it for a long time before doing so. It didn't deserve this far too rushed release and media onslaught. It's a game that will mark video game history, for better or for worse. Personally, I prefer to only remember the good things and all the emotions it gave me and forget all of CD Projekt's PR before this far too rushed release. I'm happy to change my rating from 1 to 5 stars. I really didn't think it would happen, and my initial comment makes me laugh now that the disappointment has completely disappeared. PS: JUDY, I LOVE YOU SO MUCH 💕
