Description

Darkest Dungeon II is a roguelike road trip for the damned. Form a party, equip your stagecoach, and set off across the decaying landscape on an ultimate quest to avert the apocalypse. The greatest dangers you'll encounter, however, might come from within…

Gather your courage and storm into the chaos of a destroyed world.
Four heroes and a stagecoach are all that stands between darkness and salvation.

Tried and improved turn-based combat
The revolutionary combat of Darkest Dungeon is back, but everything from the stats to the rules has been refined and improved. The brand-new token system gives your decisions real impact while adding even more depth to the game.

Unforgettable heroes
Discover and experience the tragic origins of each hero. Unlock their full potential with new skills, new paths, new items, and much more.

Roguelike courses, each with its own story
Each expedition lasts from 30 minutes to several hours. Even an early end will provide you with resources that you can spend to improve your next trip.

The altar of hope
A vast system of upgrades and perks allows you to develop new strategies for each expedition. Choose what's important to you as you prepare your assaults on the Mountain.

The affinity system
As they travel, the heroes bond with one another or irritate each other, leading to desperately needed combat synergies or breakdowns that end the journey. Manage their stress and interactions to keep the team united until the very end.

Desperate game and no solo in difficulty, the interface for the console is confusing and not intuitive.

Terrible shipping. The game is excellent, of course, but Amazon's shipping was appalling. I couldn't get a refund... the box is completely bent on all the corners.

  6. Jeans.

Incomprehensible. The art direction is stunning, but unfortunately, instead of extending and improving upon the exceptional first game, the formula has been reworked, and the game is particularly difficult to get the hang of (in addition to being extremely punishing already). You're constantly lost in the menus, lost with the upgrades, lost with the scenario choices, feeling like you're never progressing and have to repeat the same thing over and over. The stagecoach sections are absolutely POINTLESS. In short, while I loved the first game, I ended up abandoning this poor sequel with regret, even if it meant missing out on the new bosses and creatures of this poorly executed playthrough. What a shame, but it's a complete failure!
