If you like retro brawlers then you'll love this! It does have its flaws. The fighting is simple and sometimes doesn't connect with the hit ratio. The atmosphere and music etc is great for any Karate kid and retro fans out there! Picked this up in the Black Friday sale and so was very cheap!
Karen Church –
Excellent game, my husband likes it and it keeps him quiet and occupied so it gets 10/10 from me.

Hours of fun. Very basic compared to turtles or streets of rage's latest title but still very challenging. Wished these games from Nintendo would bring their prices down like playstation do over time, even the older ones are shockingly over priced.

«"The Karate Kid: Street Rumble" is a fighting game inspired by the famous 1980s film franchise. Available on Nintendo Switch, this title aims to capture the nostalgia of fans while offering an experience accessible to a wider audience. The game adopts a retro pixel art style, reminiscent of classic arcade games. The environments are varied and immerse the player in iconic locations from the films, such as Cobra Kai's dojo or the sunny beaches of Malibu. While the animations are generally fluid, they sometimes lack variety, which can make the visual experience slightly repetitive in the long run. In terms of gameplay, the title focuses on quick learning curve with intuitive controls, allowing for combos and special moves unique to each character. However, the simplicity of the combat system may disappoint fans of more technical and demanding fighting games. The story mode faithfully recreates the events of the films and uses cutscenes between fights to enhance immersion. The game offers several game modes, including an arcade mode, a local versus mode, and an online mode. The latter allows you to face off against players from around the world, but latency issues can sometimes spoil the experience. Nostalgic players will also appreciate the soundtrack, which revisits iconic themes from the saga with arrangements suited to the retro atmosphere. However, some sound effects lack modernity and can seem dated. In conclusion, "The Karate Kid: Street Rumble" is a sincere homage to the cult classic. While it succeeds in appealing to fans thanks to its faithfulness and nostalgic atmosphere, its technical limitations and lack of gameplay depth might deter players looking for a more complex experience. An enjoyable game, but one primarily aimed at fans of the original film series.
