Description
The story of Cal Kestis continues in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor™, a galaxy-spanning, third-person action-adventure game from Respawn Entertainment, developed in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games. This single-player, story-driven title picks up five years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order™ and follows Cal's increasingly desperate fight as the galaxy descends further into darkness. Driven to the far reaches of the galaxy by the Empire, Cal will find himself surrounded by new and familiar threats. As one of the last surviving Jedi Knights, Cal is forced to take a stand during the galaxy's darkest time – but how far is he willing to go to protect himself, his crew, and the legacy of the Jedi Order?
- Continue Cal's journey. Cal is no longer a Padawan; he has become a powerful Jedi Knight. Carrying with him the memories and expectations of the Jedi Order, his crusade against the Empire has become more perilous. Dark times are approaching, and with new and familiar enemies all around him, Cal must decide how far he is willing to go to save those closest to him.
- Go beyond your training. The cinematic combat system returns with additional Force abilities and new lightsaber fighting styles. Creatively utilize all these abilities and weapons to strategically confront a multitude of enemies, assessing your strengths and weaknesses while intelligently using your training to defeat your opponents and solve the mysteries that stand in your way.
- Explore an untamed galaxy. Discover new planets and familiar frontiers in the Star Wars galaxy, each with unique biomes, challenges, and enemies. Master new skills, gear, and abilities that will enhance how you explore, fight, and travel. With larger areas to explore and more to discover off the beaten path, players who venture beyond the horizon will find hidden rewards.

The game's story is quite long, and the graphics are top-notch (lots of detail) despite some FPS drops. It's a very good game, and I recommend it if you have a decent enough PC to run it smoothly. But since the patches, the game runs much better.

Review written over a year after release. I've played the game for 31 hours straight, I haven't got all the collectibles, and I still have one side mission to complete. When I reviewed the first game, I didn't hide my disappointment with the lack of originality in the gameplay. It didn't invent anything and was inferior to its inspirations. This installment is quite different and an improvement, I have to admit. On the technical side, I'm still disappointed to see that a year later the game is so poorly optimized. With an i5-8600K, Radeon 7900xt, and 16 GB of RAM, the game feels like it's lagging, averaging 150 fps… The biggest technical issue is the shameful RAM management, which completely saturates for no reason. It's far from the only game that requires 32GB to run smoothly, but as a professional developer, this observation is alarming regarding the code quality… Aside from that, the game is quite beautiful! (I did notice a fair number of minor visual bugs, like capes malfunctioning and the 3D prism effect of fires appearing on screen only once). Gameplay-wise, I'll start with the negatives: it suffers from some of the same flaws as its predecessor. Combat is challenging, which is good, but when it's poorly balanced, it's frustrating. The last mission I played involved waves of enemies with almost unavoidable and, of course, unblockable attacks (I admit I'm not a competitive or skilled player, just an average one). On the plus side, there have been quite a few improvements to the combat targeting system, which had driven me crazy in the first game. The gameplay is much more varied in terms of lightsaber stances, Force powers, the blaster, etc. I have to admit I'm really enjoying this gameplay. The parkour is a definite improvement. Jumps are better handled, and the camera isn't so erratic anymore (which was a major drawback in the first game during chase sequences). The puzzles are quite enjoyable. The semi-open world is a success, neither too vast nor too empty. Numerous optional side quests extend the game's lifespan without being excessive or tedious. The first half of the story is average, but not bad, focusing on lore and character development, and a more role-playing aspect (though unfortunately without much choice). The second half, however, evoked a wide range of emotions: dynamic, epic, and moving. That's quite rare and worth mentioning. A well-written, unobtrusive, and logical romance (FINALLY!!!) SPOILER ***** The romance between Cal and Merrin has been fairly natural since the first game; it develops smoothly throughout without feeling forced. The character development is well-written, with two similar backgrounds, and a questioning of traditional Jedi rules, including the fact that the order no longer exists. **** And SPOILER **** DARTH VADER, DAMN IT! Another incredibly charismatic appearance from the character, two games in a row and a resounding success for him. Special mention goes to the character modeling, which is much better. I admit I made fun of the cardboard Vader from the first game, far inferior to the one in Battlefront 2, released much earlier by the same publisher. ***** Regarding the ending, without spoiling anything, I expected more. I'm left with a feeling of incompleteness, but that's normal since there will certainly be a third game, and I can't wait! Spoiler Alert: The Jedi aspect, where he has to confront his dark side, is very well done. I wanted to play with the dark side, to have a potential Mace Windu, as seen in the third film. You really feel certain tensions in the plot and a real stake for some characters. Spoiler Alert: The loss of his closest friends gives Cal a certain aura. He has lost everything, a parallel to Obi-Wan, who also lost everything. Both have the strength to resist the dark side; many others have succumbed for less. The characters are better developed, Cal included. I didn't really like him in the first film, but here he becomes quite cool because he matures. The others are much more memorable than before, and I enjoyed listening to and experiencing their stories. In conclusion, technically not flawless, but quite beautiful, with a good story. Sometimes epic, sometimes funny when it needs to be, and above all, a touch of emotion. I like the progress and therefore I give it a 17/20 as encouragement to do even better!

A game that represents a significant technical leap. Star Wars Jedi Survivor is an excellent game, which at first glance is simply stunning. It truly represents a leap forward in graphics. While it's not without its flaws, especially on the PC version, I haven't noticed any major issues on Xbox Series X, and updates have already been released. The gameplay remains effective and unchanged from the previous installment. I recommend playing with headphones because the atmosphere is so well done that to fully appreciate it, headphones are the best way. The story is good (I've played for about ten hours so far, maybe a little more). The absence of booklets in the game boxes is a shame, as they were part of the enjoyment of collecting them.
