The games a lot of fun driving around, completing quests & finding out what happened to your sister. There's no combat or fall damage so less stress. You get caravan upgrades after collecting enough components.

A short but interesting game based on exploration. On Switch there is a performance problem that is perfectly judgeable

It's very chill and relaxed game. The graphics and music are nice. I did not expect myself to like this game but surprisingly I do! The gameplay is easy and story is engaging but at the same time helps me to relax and de-stress.

A Switch port that's sadly unplayable. I love Caravan Sandwich. I love the concept of an open world without violence, without death, modern and inclusive. I was so looking forward to playing this Switch version and happy that a physical version exists! Unfortunately, I can only advise you to play the game on ANOTHER platform. Ultra-pixelated in handheld mode, choppy and barely better looking in docked mode, it's a huge disappointment that forces me to give up on the game (I'll play it on PS5 instead). It's a shame because it deserves to be discovered by as many people as possible!

Not suitable for the Switch. I bought it on PC and wanted to play it on the go with the Switch: huge disappointment between the loading times, hideous graphics, and blurry textures. Absolutely not optimized or adapted for Nintendo's console.

A fantastic indie game. Highly recommended. The game is truly enjoyable. No death, adventure, puzzles, a planet and its inhabitants to discover. For users who have an issue with inclusivity, this isn't a point of contention. Given the feedback on the subject, I was a little worried it might be a politically charged work. Not at all; I find the writing very well done. So, for extremists, this isn't for you. As for the game itself, the controls are very pleasant and forgiving. The game engine runs smoothly, even if the framerate drops are constant, it didn't hinder my experience on the Switch. The music is very pleasant and well integrated.

A fun adventure. A nice exploration game, but sometimes graphically limited (framerate). Despite this, the story is captivating and you get drawn into this vast world for about ten hours.

I discovered "Caravan Sandwich" somewhat by chance, while following the results of the Pégase 2025 awards where the game was nominated in several categories. Intrigued by this unusual adventure, I decided to try it on Nintendo Switch, and I must say the experience was surprisingly refreshing. The game puts us in the shoes of Sauge, a young spaceship pilot who returns to her home planet, Cigalo, after picking up a distress signal from her sister Garance, who disappeared six years ago. The scene is set: a desert world swept by a perpetual magnetic storm, where every ruin and every dusty road seems to carry the weight of a forgotten history. The gameplay is primarily focused on exploration and puzzle-solving. Aboard our customizable van, we travel across the vast expanses of Cigalo, meet colorful characters, and gather clues about Garance's disappearance. I really enjoyed the leisurely road-trip aspect, where you let yourself be carried away by the desire to discover every corner of this fascinating world. The deliberate choice to eliminate any combat system in order to focus on exploration and puzzle-solving brings a real breath of fresh air. You progress at your own pace, without pressure, simply guided by curiosity. Visually, the game captivated me from the very first minutes. The art direction is superb, with beautifully rendered arid landscapes and vibrant villages that contrast sharply with the austerity of the surrounding desert. The scenery, blending natural elements and abandoned man-made structures, creates a nostalgic atmosphere that encourages you to stop and admire the details. The sound design, by Antynomy, perfectly complements this journey: gentle and enchanting melodies that reinforce the feeling of solitude and discovery. One of the aspects I particularly appreciated is the way the game handles its themes. The main quest is poignant, but Caravan SandWitch truly shines in its encounters. The characters you meet are all marked by their lives on Cigalo, each with their own story, doubts, and hopes. The game tackles subjects rarely explored in the medium, particularly through its portrayal of LGBTQ+ relationships and characters. This adds a welcome touch of authenticity that makes the world even more believable and engaging. In terms of playtime, Caravan SandWitch kept me hooked for about six hours with the main story, including some welcome side quests that extend the exploration a bit further. If you want to discover everything, adding another two to three hours isn't unreasonable. I must admit I felt a certain repetitiveness at times, especially during some puzzle sections that felt a little too similar. But overall, I found the experience smooth and captivating. In conclusion, "Caravan Sandwich" is a breath of fresh air for anyone who enjoys exploration, gentle post-apocalyptic settings, and inclusive storytelling. It's a touching adventure that takes its time and invites contemplation. I now understand why it received so much praise at the 2025 Pégase Awards. A wonderful discovery that I highly recommend, especially if you're looking for a soothing and immersive experience.
